Color toning can be used to enhance or suggest the mood of an image.  This image was created with B&W film; the original print was then selenium toned to suggest an atmosphere of warmth.  Most custom photo labs can offer this service. While sepia toning is more commonly referred to in creating this toning process, selenium toning tends to be less yellowish and leans more to the red/brown color. The selenium process also creates a much more stable photograph, increasing the long lasting archival quality of the print.
